WOOF: Women Only Over Fifty, is having a great year! First, co-authors, Diana Black and Mary Cunningham, were asked by founder, Kathy Patrick, to represent WOOF in January at Beauty & the Book's Girlfriends Weekend, an international gathering of book clubs. Then, much to our delight, WOOF was chosen as a bonus selection for June!
Then, to top it off, we were asked by Queen, Anita Buice to speak to the Pulpwood Queens Book Club Carrollton Chapter, and did we ever have a howlingly great time! Diana read a poem on the "joys" of menopaws and hot flashes called Covers, and Mary read a short memoir titled, My Grandmother's Hands.
The concensus was, that while our grandmothers appeared much older at age 50 than we do, they were still blessed with strength and resolve, and were a major influence in our lives.
